  • When is your next book going to be released?
Great question—I'm targeting the end of 2018/beginning of 2019. Of course, life is always "happening," and sometimes it gets in the way or precludes one from reaching a desirable deadline. I'm on it!
  • What are you currently working on?
I'm currently working on three different book series described below: A dark (and sometimes light) adult fantasy conflated with romance, horror, sautéed with seriocomic slants, marinated in eleven secret herbs and spices, and basted in hope (when Ian feels charitable to his readership); An urban fantasy chiseled out from a world of pandemic upheaval for the young adult/adult community sewn with threads of thrills and mayhem, along with the focus on the most unlikely of heroines; And a third series for anyone who feels left out of the first two series and has decreed that being weird is a gift on the same level as manna from heaven. Ian welcomes all discretions and makes every effort to cater to a plethora of proclivities—the world of readers is endless, but getting them all to open a book remains a daunting task.
  • Do you base your characters on real people?
Never intentionally—my characters are harvested organically as I write my story. I usually have a general compass direction of where I’m heading, but I welcome my tale to surprise me with “who” will be partaking in the journey along the way.
  • Do you know how your books are going to end before writing them?
Yes, I do ... more or less. I typically take a broad brush stroke through the final chapter of a book or series. I avoid carving out every intricate detail, but I create a “destination” that I’m trying to reach. Thereafter, all the chapters and/or books in the series are padding their way towards that endpoint. We do this in life too—it’s called establishing a goal.
